Queen’s Staircase

This stairway, known by the locals as the 66 steps, is an interesting and touristy point in Nassau. Located in the historic Fort Fincastle complex. This staircase was later named after Queen Victoria, who reigned in Britain for 64 years from 1837 to 1901. The great views from the top is the reward for those who dare to climb it.

Shopping is another reason why Nassau is famous, as they are tax free. Straw Market is an iconic part of the city, where you will find all kinds of souvenirs for sale, from bags, to having your own Caribbean braids. The quintessential street in Nassau for comparison is Bay Street. Right when leaving the port. Many stores of all kinds of brands and services.

Atlantis Paradise Bahamas

Located on Paradise Island, just across the bridge that connects it to Nassau, you can find this majestic tourist complex. A luxurious hotel, a Las Vegas-style casino, an impressive aquarium and gardens, restaurants, a dolphinarium, beaches with all water sports, and a water park where you slide under sharks. The entrance to the hotel and casino has no cost, but it is recommended to buy a day pass of the activity you want to do at the resort or the kiosk located at the cruise terminal.

Fort Charlotte

In Nassau, different fortresses have been built for its protection, both from pirates and invaders, such as Fort Fincastle or Fort Montagu. One of the largest is Fort Charlotte, which was built by Governor Lord Dunmore in 1788 and named after King George III’s wife, Queen Saharia Charlotte. There are 42 cannons mounted on the upper level and ramparts.
